The CPBS continues to monitor all developments in relation to COVID-19. The Society is observing Irish Government advice in relation to necessary precautions which are under continuous review. Inspections/Covid-19

Concerning the ongoing implications and gradual lifting of restrictions with regard to the coronavirus pandemic, the viability of holding inspections will continue to be monitored. The Council is hopeful that inspections will be held in the Autumn, subject to restrictions being further eased and that it is possible to put suitable procedures and precautions in place given the pandemic. CPBS cancellation of the 97th Annual Connemara Pony Show 2020

Following recommendations from the Irish Shows’ Association and due to ongoing concerns regarding the continuing impact of the coronavirus, the Connemara Pony Breeders’ Society announced with great regret earlier in May the cancellation of the planned 97th Annual Connemara Pony Show due to have been held at the Showgrounds in Clifden from August 19th to 22nd. This is the first time in the history of the Society that the Annual Show has been cancelled since the foundation of the Society in 1923, the first show being held at Roundstone in 1924....

COVID-19 – Temporary Arrangements

In response to the ongoing COVID-19 situation and the latest government and national health authority’s advice, the Connemara Pony Breeders’ Society have implemented systems to allow staff to work remotely and all services are still available. Equine Premises Number

Equine Premises Numbers As of 7th of February 2020 all Passport Issuing Organisations (PIO’s) can not proceed with type 1 (foal and pony registrations) and type 3 (pony importation) applications if they are not accompanied with a valid equine premises number. Council Meeting - 20 February 2020 At the recent Council Meeting of the CPBS the following items were agreed: Colt Inspections for 2020: the decision was made that colt inspections for 2020 will be conducted in the same format as in 2019. Loose jumping for colts will be compulsory. The Spring Weekend full schedule was approved and may be viewed on the website.
