FREE HWSD TESTING- LIMITED OFFER  Registered Connemara Mares and Stallions Only  Participants must complete & return by 1st October 2021   The eradication of HWSD has been a focal point within the Connemara Pony Breeders’ Society (CPBS) since its verification and confirmation by Weatherbys in 2015. Since then, the CPBS have taken steps to aid breeders eradicate the disease for future generations. CPBS Council Election 2021

Thirteen nomination papers were returned by 1 September for the forthcoming elections to Council. Of these, five were found not to be compliant with the conditions required for submission as agreed by Council 2021. Non-adherence to the conditions included the following: membership numbers not matching proposer, incorrect membership numbers, non-member proposer, failure to fill out the form as requested, proposer incorrect number, non-compliance of returning the full application, non-compliance with method of returning nomination papers by registered post. Recently, comments concerning the Connemara Pony Breeders’ Society and its Council have been made on social media platforms. Given the content and slanderous nature of some of these comments the Council consider that there appears to be a vexatious and malicious campaign afoot in a deliberate attempt to damage the reputation of the Society and its work. Performance Indicator Assessments Results

At the recent Performance Indicator Assessments of the CPBS, open to Class 1 fillies and mares of three and four years of age, there were 21 entries, with one withdrawal. Of the 20 participating ponies 16 achieved a score of 75 or over, out of 100,  receiving a 'bronze' award and 50 merits. The remaining four scored below the 75 mark and each was awarded 30 merits.
