Equine Premises numbers

Please note that if you have not applied for your Equine premises number with the Department of Agriculture please ensure to do so as soon as possible. A person may not have an equine in his/her possession or under his/her control unless the details of his/her premises is registered. The CPBS will request equine premises number for all transactions with the society. Forms is available from the downloads section and must be returned to your local regional office of the department. No fee required....

DNA SAMPLING & MICROCHIPPING FOR REGISTRATION OF FOALS AND PONIES

IMPORTANT NOTICE Any samples received in the lab after the 23rd August cannot be guaranteed being issued with a passport by the CPBS before the October Sales. Passports will be issued in strict rotation and as foals may be sampled from birth we recommend owners apply for kits as early as is practicable. Samples with multiple parents, mix ups and exclusions - which may entail resampling or additional testing - will incur further delays and will automatically be excluded from this timeline. Results from 2 day Connemara Pony Sale

The annual 2 day Connemara pony sales were held in Clifden last weekend with a catalogue of 434 entries over the 2 days. This figure was up over 100 lots on the same sale last year. Buyers from UK, France, Holland, Belgium, Germany and Sweden were in attendance along with a high number of Irish and northern buyers. Showjumping Competition

A showjumping competition for registered Connemara ponies will be held on Saturday 4th June at the Showgrounds, Clifden, Co. Galway commencing at 11am. The competition will feature a 70 – 80cms class sponsored by Westside B&B, a 90cms class sponsored by Diamond’s Equine Centre, a 1m class and a 1.10m class. Entries will be taken on the day. Performance Judges Seminar

A seminar for the CPBS Performance judges will take place in Mullingar Equestrian Centre on Sunday 29th May commencing at 11am. Membership of the Connemara Pony Breeders Society

The membership renewal date for all CPBS members is March 1st each year. The membership renewal date was extended in the current version of the Memorandum and Articles from the 31st January to the 1st of March. Membership “shall be payable before the 1st March in each year; a person whose membership is not received in the Society’s office before the 1st March shall cease to be a member of the Society and in order to become a member of the society again he/she shall apply in accordance with Article 7...
