Proposed Changes to Memorandum and Articles

A number of information sessions are being organised around the country for CPBS members to discuss the proposed changes to the current Memorandum and Articles of Association. The proposed amendments to the existing CPBS Memorandum and Articles provide for transparency and accountability which will guide the Society as a limited company in managing its business in a professional manner into the future. Council Meeting Report

The Council of the CPBS met last night in the Westwood House Hotel in Galway. A commitment was given by the Council at the last AGM to hold an EGM before the end of this Summer. Last night it was agreed to hold the EGM on Friday 17th July 2015 in Ballinasloe at 8.30pm. Unfortunately it would be impossible to hold the meeting on a Saturday or Sunday due to the large number of shows taking place during the Summer. Danish and Swedish Societies Celebrate Jubillee Anniversaries

The Connemara Pony Breeders’ Society wishes to congratulate the Danish and Swedish Connemara Pony Societies on their Golden Jubilees and thank their breeders for the support they have given the pony and its breeders here in Ireland over the last fifty years. Both the Danish Society (since 1964) and Swedish Society (since 1965) have promoted and championed the Connemara pony in Scandinavia with great success. The CPBS very much appreciates their work. 3yr Old Loose Jumping

The annual 3yr old Loose Jumping Competition final  will be held on Wednesday 19th of August 2015 in the Showgrounds, Clifden, Co. Galway.  Please note there is just one qualifier which is to be held on Saturday 25th of July 2015 at Mullingar Equestrian Centre, Mullingar, Co. Westmeath. Training Clinics

Performance training will take place at Clifden Showgrounds starting in June. Training will include: Ridden shows, working hunter, showjumping and dressage. The course will include two cross country training days at The Parks, Moycullen. A show will be held on final day. This training is open to adults or children with a Connemara pony. Council Meeting Report

The line up of Clifden judges was finalised at last night’s Council meeting. John Joe Bolton and Noel Sweeney will judge the morning classes in Ring one. Séan Stagg and Madeline Beckman will judge the afternoon classes in Ring one and Finola Nic an Iomaire and Fr. Christy McCormack will judge the morning classes in Ring two.
