Council Meeting Report

The Council of the CPBS held it's third meeting of 2015 last night. The memorandum and articles review committee reported that after taking all submissions into consideration it is almost ready to present the first draft of the proposed amendments. The marketing committee is undertaking market research and members of the Society will be invited to participate in an online survey. Two bus tours are being organised as part of Show week. Connemara Pony Spring Festival

As the pony breeding season commences the Connemara Pony Breeders’ Society is planning its annual Connemara Pony Spring Festival. The festival takes place from Friday 27th March to Sunday 29th March. Traditionally focusing on Connemara stallions, this year will continue that theme with a few new additions to the programme. Colt inspections will be carried out over two days with the first inspection centre being in Mullingar, Co. Westmeath starting at 10am. Day two of the colt inspections will start at 10am in Clifden. CPBS Sponsorship of €150 to the top placed Connemara in the Novice Eventing League

Ms. Ann Reade from the CPBS Performance Committee presenting a cheque and rosette to Emma Kennedy. Emma and her Connemara pony Laburnum Ineer (2005 ex: Starlit (by: Maam Hill) and by Coosheen Stormboy) were awarded the prize for the highest placed Connemara in the Novice Eventing League. Bred by Mr. Seamus McDonagh from Inverin, Co Galway. Emma and Laburnum Ineer (aka Merlin) have had a very successful partnership and were placed 19th at the European Championships in Millstreet during the Summer. Merlin has since been sold to the UK.
