Connemara Pony Elite Sale

Connemara Pony Elite Sale

The Connemara Pony Elite Sales Group (CPESG) are very pleased to announce the latest details for the planned Elite Sale of performance Connemara Ponies in 2014.

The sales process will consist of two Selection Days, held in Athlone Equestrian Centre on Sunday 23rd February and Sunday 2nd March 2014. Ponies that qualify for selection may advance to the Exhibition Sale. The three assessors for the selection days are Mr. Ian Fearon, Mr. Tom Slattery, and Mr. Jack Doyle – all top class performance specialists.

All ponies must be turned out and presented to a high standard. All ponies will have photographs and videos taken on their selection day by Tadhg Ryan, of Scarteen, Limerick, which will be used for cataloguing for the Exhibition Sale. These images and videos will be made available to all competitors, for their own promotional use, regardless of selection outcome.

The CPESG hope to qualify approximately 60 ponies for the Exhibition Sale on the 28th of March 2014 as part of the 2014 Connemara Pony Spring Festival.

The sale will now officially launch the Connemara Pony Breeders Society’s annual Festival, and will be opened by Prof. Pat Wall (chairperson, Horse Sport Ireland) and Ms. Marian Harkin (MEP) at Duffy’s Equestrian Centre, Claregalway. Those ponies that have been selected for sale will be showcased on-site at Duffy’s. This will be followed by a video auction that evening, run by Connemara Pony Sales Co. on behalf of the CPESG, in the Ardilaun Hotel, Galway City.
