Council Meeting Report 27.06.17

The CPBS council met on Tuesday evening in Gullane’s Hotel, Ballinasloe for their monthly meeting.  The upcoming Annual Connemara Pony Show was high  on the agenda and plans are well underway for the three day show. The show will commence on Wednesday morning with a new International Connemara Performance Hunter class. Teams for this competition will be invited from the teams selected to compete in the RDS International Performance Hunter class. This class is followed by the final of the Irish Green Hunter, the Three year old Loose Jumping, Four year old Performance mare loose jumping championship and the Family Working Hunter.  The CPBS Show committee have asked if there is anyone around to help with taking down the course on the Wednesday evening to contact the office. Any help is welcomed.

Entries for the show close on Monday 10th July and entries are accepted online.  Anyone looking to advertise in the show catalogue can send their advert to [email protected]

CPBS Database

The CPBS staff are working on the new database which we hope to have up and going for the end of the summer.

RDS stand

The CPBS will have a stand at this years RDS and if there is any of our members or breeders who would like to help out on the stand please contact [email protected]

Autumn Inspections and Amnesty

The Autumn inspections will take place on the dates and venues below.  We would like to remind breeders that the amnesty for mares continues until Autumn 2019.

The CPBS has introduced an amnesty for the progeny of class 3 parents which permits them to be presented for inspection and be classified according to the studbook rules. The amnesty registration period will run from April 1 2017 to 31 October 2019. The amnesty does not apply to stallions or geldings.

Monday 2nd October – Mullingar Equestrian Centre, Mullingar, Co Westmeath (Colts)

Tuesday 3rd October – Greenacres Equestrian Centre, Rooskey, Co Donegal (am) (Fillies)

– Hanleys Equestrian Centre, Claremorris, Co Mayo (afternoon/pm) (Fillies)

Thursday 5th October – Mullingar Equestrian Centre, Mullingar, Co Westmeath (Fillies)

The CPBS are looking for a temporary member of staff for a 2 month period, further information can be found on our website and Facebook page.
