AGM 7th November 2021

AGM 7th November 2021 a brief summary  The CPBS would like to thank all those who logged on for the online AGM. Hopefully this is the last year that the AGM will need to be held in such a format. Eighty-seven members attended. The Council apologise for the late start of the meeting but technical difficulties were encountered by some logging on which caused a small delay in proceedings. The CPBS are delighted to be running a two day Christmas Show on Saturday 11th and Sunday 12th December in Creagh Equestrian Centre, Ballinasloe, Co Galway. 2021 CPBS Council Elections

The allocation of council seats for the Connacht region took place on Wednesday (6th October) at 8pm in the Salthill Hotel, Galway.  Mr. Tom Burke (Peace Commissioner) carried out the draw.  Candidates along with one observer were invited to attend. CPBS Council Election 2021

Thirteen nomination papers were returned by 1 September for the forthcoming elections to Council. Of these, five were found not to be compliant with the conditions required for submission as agreed by Council 2021. Non-adherence to the conditions included the following: membership numbers not matching proposer, incorrect membership numbers, non-member proposer, failure to fill out the form as requested, proposer incorrect number, non-compliance of returning the full application, non-compliance with method of returning nomination papers by registered post. CPBS STATEMENT re SOCIAL MEDIA POSTS

Recently, comments concerning the Connemara Pony Breeders’ Society and its Council have been made on social media platforms. Given the content and slanderous nature of some of these comments the Council consider that there appears to be a vexatious and malicious campaign afoot in a deliberate attempt to damage the reputation of the Society and its work.
