Council Meeting Report

The Council of the CPBS held their first Council meeting after the AGM on Thursday 20/11/14. Tom MacLochlainn from New Inn, Ballinasloe was elected President. Jim Mullaney and John Varley were elected as Vice-Presidents. Padraic Heanue was elected Treasurer and John Riordan was elected Honorary Secretary. A committee was formed consisting of Jerry Mahon, Noel Brett and Andy O'Donoghue, to review the Memorandum and Articles and plan for an EGM in early 2015. Christmas Show 2014

The Connemara Pony Breeders' Society Christmas Show will take place on Saturday 13th December at Creagh Equestrian Centre, Ballinalsoe, Co Galway. The Programme of events will include Working Hunter competition (U-16 and Over 16)), Obstacle course, Colt and Filly foal class (shown without dam) and a Tug of War (CPBS members can only participate).  There will be plenty of other entertainment and refreshments on the day. Blackwood Dancer

Blackwood Dancer, by Ferdia ex Dancing Queen by Mervyn Pookhaun was bred by Anthony and Janice Linden from Clane, Co. Kildare. He was shown at Connemara breed shows in the UK, before he was bought by his present owners, Judy Cazabon and Enda Keane of Cleggan Beach Riding Centre. He was brought out to a few ridden Connemara classes the year he was bought, but he was a worrier, and he got very nervous in both the show ring and the dressage arena, so he was given a long break out...
