Spring Festival 2015

The Spring Festival kicked off on Friday with the Colt inspections in Mullingar Equestrian Centre, with six colts attaining class one status.  The second day of colt inspections took place in the Showgrounds, Clifden the next morning with another five colts attaining class one status.  On Saturday afternoon Kate Murray MRCVS and Sheila Ramsay gave a presentation on Hoof Wall Separation Syndrome (HWSD), its implications, how to test for it and how to prevent it. Council Meeting Report

The Council of the CPBS held it's third meeting of 2015 last night. The memorandum and articles review committee reported that after taking all submissions into consideration it is almost ready to present the first draft of the proposed amendments. The marketing committee is undertaking market research and members of the Society will be invited to participate in an online survey. Two bus tours are being organised as part of Show week. One will visit the Letterfrack and Renvyle area and the other will visit Ballyconneely and Cashel. Funding has been applied for...

Connemara Pony Spring Festival

As the pony breeding season commences the Connemara Pony Breeders’ Society is planning its annual Connemara Pony Spring Festival. The festival takes place from Friday 27th March to Sunday 29th March. Traditionally focusing on Connemara stallions, this year will continue that theme with a few new additions to the programme. Colt inspections will be carried out over two days with the first inspection centre being in Mullingar, Co. Westmeath starting at 10am. Day two of the colt inspections will start at 10am in Clifden.
