** Show Week Bus Tours**

This year the CPBS will run two bus tours to facilitate breeders without vehicles, on Monday the 18th of August and Tuesday the 19th of August. The tours will visit local breeders and points of cultural interest on Monday in North Connemara (Letterfrack & The Renvyle Peninsula) and on Tuesday in South Connemara (Carna & Kilkerrin). CPBS Council Meeting

The Council of the CPBS held its January meeting last night. It was agreed that a memorial service for deceased breeders will be held on the Wednesday of Show week in Clifden. A memorial book will be opened and family members of the deceased are asked to submit their names. Bartley O’Sullivan Lecture

The 2015 Bartley O Sullivan Lecture will be presented by Dr. Eithne O Connell at the Station House Theatre in Clifden on Saturday March 28th at 8p.m. The lecture's working title is 'The Scandinavian Connection' and will focus on the founding of the Danish(1964) and the Swedish(1965) societies, both celebrating 50 years. Happy New Year

Michael Clancy, Graham Tulloch and Paddy King were among the prize winners at Clifden in 1964. At a time when duns proliferated the studbook, Ardnasillagh Honey, Macdara and Lambay Rebel were three good ones that were in the ribbons on the day. The outside blood was popular with Clonkeehan Auratum and Camlin Cicada siring all the young stock winners. Frances Lee Norman swept the boards and Tim Cotter and Tommy Kelly were still in the middle of the ring forty years after they judged their first show at Roundstone in 1924. It...

Council Meeting Report

The CPBS Council met last night Tuesday 16th December for their last meeting of 2014, where it was agreed to hold a Council meeting on the second Monday of every month. The 2015 AGM was set for Sunday 11th October. Following a huge amount of discussion and suggestions the Council agreed that an independent Chairperson will select a committee of four members, one from each province, to pick the judges for Clifden Show.
