Christmas Show a great success

The second ever CPBS Christmas took place at Creagh Equestrian Centre on Saturday.  Despite the delayed start in the morning due to the Working Hunter moving indoors, there was a great turnout of entries and spectators. The morning Working hunter classes started just after 10.30 and were followed by a Dressage demonstration from Alana Cazabon Sullivan and then a Christmas themed musical ride from the Clegganbay Riding Centre (santa hats, reindeer noses on ten grey Connemara ponies).  The obstacle course took place with a tricky course designed by Cathriona Goaley followed by...

An Capaillín

The new edition of An Capaillín is currently being compiled and we are delighted to have Lucinda Kelly on board as our editor. Lucinda is a member of the CPBS who is passionate about performance ponies and who breeds from home in Wicklow. CPBS Council Report

The CPBS Council met for a seminar on Monday 1st December. In a thorough and wide ranging discussion it has begun to plan it's programme of work for the coming year. Several group discussions and presentations dealt with every aspect of the Society's work and methodology. The Council was very honoured to have President Michael D. Higgins accompanied by his wife Sabine drop in a for brief visit during which he wished the Society well in it's work....

Western Region RC Autumn Dressage League

Congrats to Mary Mitchell, winner of the Open Western Region RC Autumn Dressage League. Mary won the league on her home bred seven year old Connemara mare Western Easter. The Class one grey mare is by Cremully Western Melody and out of Western Princess by Smokey Duncan....

Council Meeting Report

The Council of the CPBS held their first Council meeting after the AGM on Thursday 20/11/14. Tom MacLochlainn from New Inn, Ballinasloe was elected President. Jim Mullaney and John Varley were elected as Vice-Presidents. Padraic Heanue was elected Treasurer and John Riordan was elected Honorary Secretary. A committee was formed consisting of Jerry Mahon, Noel Brett and Andy O'Donoghue, to review the Memorandum and Articles and plan for an EGM in early 2015.
