Eventing Ireland Awards

Ann Reade, from the CPBS Performance Committee, presented the winners of the highest placed Connemara ponies who competed in Eventing Ireland events at Novice and Pre-Novice levels, with their prizes at Eventing Ireland head office yesterday.   The winners are Novice League Newtown Westie (by: Westside Mirah & ex: Derrymore Lass) ridden by Lucy Hancock (pictured left, presented with rosette and cheque for €150)   Pre-Novice League Judy Sunshine (by: Windy’s Boy & ex: Tawnaghbawn Judy) ridden by Lucy Arkwright (pictured right, presented with rosette and cheque for €100)  ...

Christmas Show

On December 12th 1923 the Connemara Pony Breeders’ Society was formed. December 2013 marks the ninetieth anniversary of the CPBS. To celebrate this milestone the Society is organising a ‘Celebration of the Connemara Pony’ in Creagh Equestrian Centre, Ballinasloe, Co. Galway on Saturday 14th December. Starting at 10am, there will be a colt foal and a filly foal class. CPBS Dressage Sponsorship

CPBS sponsors at Dressage Ireland National Championships.   The top placed Connemara and winner of €150 sponsorship from the CPBS, at the National Championships of Dressage Ireland at Cavan is Blackwood Dancer, by Ferdia ex Dancing Queen by Mervyn Pookhaun. Starfinder of the Future 2013

  The Starfinder of the  Future is a competition for 6 & 7yr old ponies, with 6yr olds jumping 1.10m, and 1.15m in the jump off, and 7yr olds jumping 1.15, and 1.20 in the jump off. The 10 top ponies from each qualifier can go forward to the final, where there are two pre qualifiers, leaving  the top 25 ponies for the final, which is held at the National Pony Championships  This year they were held  at Ennis Showgrounds on  the 25th August.
