Starfinder of the Future Awards

The CPBS is delighted to be associated with this Championship,  and each year sponsor €500 to the  top placed Connemara at the final of Starfinder at which there were 8 pure bred and 1 part bred  Connemara  at the final.  This year the Top Placed Connemara was “Ryans Son”, by Sweetwall Captains Courageous ex Ashbrook Mist by Earl of Castlefrench. CPBS Sponsor at the Irish Pony Society Awards 2013

Damien McDonald (CEO of HSI) presenting the awards to the riders of the two highest placed Connemara ponies in the IPS. Winner of the highest placed Connemara in the Open Working Hunter was Cahangh Prince (by: Westside Mirah & ex: Cahanaghs Princess) owned by Des O'Sullivan and ridden by Alan O'Sullivan was awarded a rosette and cheque for €150 sponsored by the CPBS. Spring Inspections

Application forms and details of the Spring inspections are now available. The closing date for receipt of applications for colts is Friday 28th February. If large numbers of entries are received an extra centre will be added. The closing date for receipt of applications for fillies is Friday 4th April. Please note fees include VAT at 23%. CPBS sponsor at the Irish Pony Society Awards 2013

The IPS National awards ceremony will be held tonight, 3rd January at Killashee House Hotel, Naas, where two Connemara ponies will be presented with CPBS sponsored cheques and rosettes. Connemara Pony Elite Sale

The Connemara Pony Elite Sales Group (CPESG) are very pleased to announce the latest details for the planned Elite Sale of performance Connemara Ponies in 2014. The sales process will consist of two Selection Days, held in Athlone Equestrian Centre on Sunday 23rd February and Sunday 2nd March 2014. Ponies that qualify for selection may advance to the Exhibition Sale. Christmas Show a great success

Christmas came early to Connemara pony breeders who gathered at Carey’s Equestrian Centre in Creagh , Ballinasloe on Saturday to celebrate the founding of the Society on Dec. 12th 1923. The organisers had said they wanted a feel-good, celebratory atmosphere and they certainly got that with the mulled wine flowing freely from Pauline’s ‘cave’. There was also a pig on a spit, Christmas cake and a massive birthday cake made in The Bread Shed in New Inn. A feast for all to put everyone in a good mood. The serious part...

Eventing Ireland Awards

Christmas Show

On December 12th 1923 the Connemara Pony Breeders’ Society was formed. December 2013 marks the ninetieth anniversary of the CPBS. To celebrate this milestone the Society is organising a ‘Celebration of the Connemara Pony’ in Creagh Equestrian Centre, Ballinasloe, Co. Galway on Saturday 14th December.
