Please complete all of the details and return this form with the correct payment to the Connemara Pony Breeders Society. If the person requesting a Duplicate Document is not the Registered Owner of the pony, as currently stated in the records of the Connemara Pony Breeders Society, a Transfer of Ownership form must accompany this form, signed by the Registered Owner/or catalogued sales information and completed and signed by the new owner.

A Fee of €246 (CPBS Members €184.50) must be returned with this form to the CPBS prior to the CPBS undertaking to issue the pony with a Duplicate Document of identification. A DNA sampling kit will then be issued by the CPBS to the owner. A blood sample and a marking chart signed by a Vet must be forwarded to Weatherby’s Laboratory for analysis to confirm that the pony to be issued with the duplicate document matches the original sample held by them for that pony. Where a pony has a CPBS micro chip there is no requirement for a blood sample. Instead new markings on CPBS marking forms and microchip confirmed by a veterinary surgeon can be submitted along with a fee of €123. A duplicate document cannot be issued by the Society unless and until these conditions are fully complied with.

Gelding Registration/Classification

Upon submission of the following items the CPBS will classify the gelding in the appropriate class.

Registration fee of €24.60
Veterinary Certificate stating the following:
- Height
- Certificate of castration
- Colour
- New Markings
- Verification of microchip
  If the pony has not been micro chipped, microchips must be bought from the CPBS. Fee €15.
Lifetime Document/Temporary Foal Cert.
(Three choices of names for the pony must be submitted with a Temporary Foal cert.)
Completed transfer of ownership form and fee where required.

Transfer of Ownership

Instructions for Sellers / Vendors

Complete Section 1 of the Connemara Pony Breeders’ Society Transfer of Ownership form with the animal’s details.
Complete and sign Section 2 of the form with your details.
Have the buyer / new owner complete and sign Section 3 with their details.
Take a copy of the form for your records (photocopy or photograph will suffice).
Give the form and passport to the new owner / buyer of the pony.

Instructions for Buyers / New Owners

Complete Section 3 of the Connemara Pony Breeders’ Society Transfer of Ownership form.
Ensure the Seller / Vendor has completed and signed Section 2 of the Connemara Pony Breeders’ Society Transfer of Ownership form.
Take a copy of the form for your records (photocopy or photograph will suffice).
Return this fully completed form and fee together with the passport to the CPBS. Please note if all details are not entered on the form it will be returned.

DNA SAMPLING & MICROCHIPPING FOR REGISTRATION OF FOALS AND PONIES

The following rules apply for registration of foals: Please read carefully
1. You are requested to complete the detachable slip below for each foal.
2. All foals, their dams and sires must be tested before being accepted for registration in the CPBS Studbook.
3. DNA samples from the foal/pony should be done by your local Veterinary Surgeon who will also take the markings of the foal.
4. Foals must be registered before they are six months old or before the 31st December in the year of birth (whichever is the latest date) to be included in the food chain.
5. All foals must be Microchipped for identification and named for life at time of DNA sampling
6. Return completed forms to The Connemara Pony Breeders’ Society with the appropriate fees
7. In order to be recorded as the breeder of the foal the Dam must be registered in your name
8. A Lifetime Document will be issued for each animal when its parentage is verified to the CPBS by Weatherbys Laboratory, which can take up to 10 weeks. Please ensure not to mix up the contents of kits if DNA typing more than one foal at a time.
9. Forms accompanied with the incorrect fees will be returned. Sterling cheques or Sterling cash no longer accepted.
10. All foals will be tested for Hoof Wall Separation Syndrome
11. Kits are issued strictly in rotation. Please do not book your vet until you have the kit.
