Pat Lyne Remembered

The Connemara pony and its kinsfolk have lost a true friend with the sad news that Pat Lyne has passed away, aged 91 years. Although living in the United Kingdom, Pat had a very close association with the people of Connemara and their ponies for over forty years, and her immeasurable amount of knowledge gleaned was demonstrated in the many books she wrote rolling back the mists of time and place, taking readers down many a boreen to meet famous ponies and breeders, discuss diverse pedigree lines and share recollections...

The procedures for International Travel for Equines changed on 1 January 2021 when the United Kingdom left the European Union. Kylemore Abbey to place Connemara mare and foal in Áras Paddocks

Kylemore Abbey is delighted to announce an exciting new partnership between Áras an Uachtaráin and the Abbey whereby each year a Connemara mare and foal from the Kylemore Herd will take up residence with the President of Ireland and graze the Áras paddocks from May to September.
