CPBS Council Nominations

The following nominations have been received from candidates seeking election to the Council of the Connemara Pony Breeders’ society in accordance with Article 15 of the CPBS Constitution by the closing date of 01/09/2020


Sean Carey, Newtown, Creagh, Co Galway

Pat Collins, Flaggylane Stables, Knockbrack, Athenry, Co Galway  “I Pat Collins will be seeking election in up coming CPBS elections. I’m involved in ponies over 20 years between jumping, hunting and breeding. Hopefully getting elected I’ll bring fresh ideas to the table and represent you the breeder. I would appreciate your vote 1st, 2nd, 3rd or 4th they all count, thanking you, Pat Collins”

Martin Coyne, Moorland Connemara Ponies, Letterfrack, Co Galway  “I Martin Coyne in these challenging times am committed to insuring the true pony and the true origins of the pony are not lost. I also would like to see the Society having more interaction with the breeders”

Gearoid Curran, Tooreeney, Moycullen, Co Galway

Conor Little, Bunowen, Ballyconneely, Co Galway “My name is Conor Little and I am running for election to be a voice for the breeders and be there to try ad help with any issues that may arise. I would appreciate your 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th vote. They all count. Thank you, Conor”

Henry O’Toole, Faulkeeragh, Sky Road, Clifden, Co Galway “I have been breeding Connemara ponies for the last 45 years. I have a strong interest in improving and protecting our breed type while also enhancing our performance pony”


Patrick Geoghegan, Avonbrae House, Rathdrum, Co Wicklow ” As a pony owner I have a keen interest in both the breeding and production of the Connemara pony. If elected to council I will work to further promote the breed”


Eimear Coleman, Clounanna, Patrickswell, Co Limerick ” As a young breeder with a passion for Connemara ponies, I believe I would make a suitable candidate for the council. If elected I would use this opportunity to act as a voice for the breeders of my constituency”

Andrew O’Donoghue, 12 Westpark, Spanish Point, Miltown Malbay, Co Clare


Joanne Hunter, 35 Loughries Road, Newtownards, Co Down, BT23 8RW “I would like to be considered for election to the council of the Connemara Pony Breeders’ Society as there is currently not a representative from Northern Ireland. I am a relatively new breeder and have a great love for these beautiful ponies , welfare and preservation”
