Welcome to South Africia

Welcome to South Africia

While the main focus of attention during show week was on the various competitions the delegates from the overseas societies met for their annual meeting to discuss worldwide issues. For the first time ever a delegate from South Africa, Ms. Lena Penfold attended the ICCPS meeting. Connemaras first went to South Africa as part of a Dept. of Agriculture aid package in 1978 when the stallions Milford Hurricane (568) and Crockaun Connemara (674) were sent there to be crossed with the native Basotho pony in a breed improvement programme. The CPBS welcomes the South Africa society to the Connemara community.

It seems the capaillín continues its astonishing journey around the globe.
