International Travel for Equines
19 Jan 2021
The procedures for International Travel for Equines changed on 1 January 2021 when the United Kingdom left the European Union. The United Kingdom may be used as a landbridge for access to the continent. The procedures for this differ to direct import/export with the United Kingdom. All paperwork must be completed online at least 24 hours prior to departure. It is imperative that all information provided to the authorities is accurate and corresponds correctly with the animal in question. The correct passport must accompany all animals travelling. Full information and procedures to complete are available on both the DAFM and DEFRA websites. Below are general notes and links as provided by the DAFM and DEFRA at a recent webinar.
