As 2015 draws to a close it is fitting to review the year’s highlights. The E.G.M. that put in place the new Memorandum and Articles was the big success of the early summer. This was followed by a successful annual show in August where the number of ridden ponies were a sight to behold (even in the rain). The big numbers of showjumping ponies at Creagh in December for the Christmas Show was a third, if unexpected, spectacular highlight. Dr. Jack Murphy’s Discussion Paper and the Education Conference gave us a lot of food for thought.
People will have personal highlights as well—a big win, a good sale/purchase, a satisfactory breeding outcome, a successful showing or performance campaign, etc. Congratulations to everyone just for having a go.
The end of year can also be a time of regret and sadness and unfortunately there were losses as always. Valuable stallions like Kilmullen Fionn and Bunowen Bobby will be missed.
The greatest loss of all is in the passing of cherished friends and colleagues. The CPBS extends its sympathies to all who suffered bereavements in the last year. Ár mbuíochas agus ar dheis Dé go raibh sibh a cháirde.
Sincerest thanks to all who promoted the objectives of the Society in 2015. Greetings to you from the CPBS and to all our friends in Ireland, Britain, America, Canada, Australia, Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Finland, Poland, Germany, Holland, Belgium, France, Switzerland, Austria, New Zealand, South Africa, Italy, Hungary and wherever this incredible pony from CONNEMARA has found its way.
A Happy and a Healthy New Year. Athbhliain faoi mhaise agaibh uilig agus go mbeirimid ar fad beo ar an am seo aríst.
