The resignations are as follows: Daragh Kevin Ó Tuairisg (Uachtarán), Patrick Collins (Vice-President), Cathy Morrissey, Cait Hennessy, Eamon Spain, and Alan Woods.
The Society acknowledges these resignations and thanks the departing Council members for their service, commitment, and contribution to the Society during their respective tenures.
The remaining members of Council — John F. Brady, Roger Brady, Clare Oakes, Noel Brett, Noel Mahon, Fr. Christy McCormack, and Pearce Gibbons — remain in office and are fully committed to the continued operation, stability, and effective governance of the Society. The Council will continue to discharge its statutory and fiduciary responsibilities in the best interests of the Society and its members.
The current Council reaffirms its commitment to progressing the constitutional review process already underway. This review is being advanced to strengthen the Society’s governance framework, enhance transparency, and ensure that the organisation is appropriately structured to meet its obligations and future challenges. In light of recent developments, the Council considers that the need for this review is further reinforced.
The Council remains focused on maintaining continuity of service to members and on ensuring that the Society continues to operate in a compliant, accountable, and sustainable manner. Member engagement will remain central to this process, and further updates will be communicated as the review progresses.
The Connemara Pony Breeders’ Society continues its work on behalf of its members and the Connemara pony breed and remains committed to supporting the long-term integrity and future of the Society.
